What is a Comprehensive Plan?

The Comprehensive Plan is the City’s principal guide for use in the daily planning decisions regarding growth, development, and regulation of current and future development within the City limits.

The Comprehensive Plan for Branson will address growth management, economic development and redevelopment, and provide a framework and guidebook to enhance a vibrant community and multi-faceted tourism economy for the next ten plus years.  The Branson community will be extensively engaged to help create a common vision for the future of Branson and the final Plan will reflect their values and desires.  Policy decisions will be made that will provide the general framework for land use, community character, housing, economic development, tourism, transportation, infrastructure, recreation, culture and historic preservation, health, education, safety and security and governance.

The plan will outline an action plan and implementation strategies for Branson to follow in order to realize the Comprehensive Plan goals and objectives. It will also provide the context for which future capital improvement investment decisions can be made.

Project Goals

Draft goals will be developed with the Steering Committee and the City early in the process.

Goals are project-specific objectives collectively set by the Steering Committee, consultant team, and staff to achieve a comprehensive outcome. The goals and metrics will be based on the initial Critical Success Factors, input from the community, survey results, and technical analysis.
