Design Workshop

Visioning Workshop

On October 7th, Design Workshop, the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee and the City hosted a Visioning Workshop at Branson High School in the school’s auditorium.  Roughly 80 people, representing organizations, workers and residents, attended one of the two events and helped the consultant team drill down into more detail about the issues facing Branson and highlight priorities for future City efforts.

The workshop began with a 75 minute presentation by the consultant team that presented attributes of successful communities, reflected on responses received from the August Open House, included keypad polling questions intended to clarify Open House responses and reported on existing conditions of the respective topics. The presentation was organized into the following topic areas:

Economic Development

Land Use

Community

The same presentation was given twice in an effort to gather input from as many people as possible– one at 3:30PM and one at 6:30PM. View the presentation that was given to the attendees.

View the Visioning Survey results that summarize the questions asked during the October 8th presentations, combined with the responses collected online between 10/08 and 10/22.

After the presentation, attendees were split into three groups: Economic Development, Land Use and Community.  Attendees were assigned to a table based on the number, which correlated to a table number, given to them as they signed–in. At each of the tables, the group was assigned with answering a specific question or two.  The questions were designed to let the community provide input on how to incentivize businesses to locate in Branson, locate where redevelopment priorities should be, identify what defined sense of community and list what cultural, arts or social services are missing in Branson today.   The responses to these questions are available for download below.

For those that attended the Visioning Workshop and have input on a question at a different table than you were assigned to, you may provide response to all of the questions here: Break–Out Group Questions. These questions are also in the Visioning Survey (link above) for those that did not attend the October 7th workshop.

Input received from the keypad polling and the break–out groups was extremely valuable. This information will help form the alternative futures to be presented on October 28th.  We appreciate all of the response and time that people have devoted to the Community Plan 2030!
